Draft Louisiana Priority Climate Action Plan open for public comment The Draft PCAP details the State's priority measures for reducing greenhouse gas emissions as required by the planning phase of the Climate Pollution Reduction Program. The Draft PCAP is available to view viewed and commented on at the link above. Comments will be accepted until November 30, 2023. The final PCAP is expected to be published and sent to the Environmental Protection Agency in January 2024. |

Department of Energy announces $169 million to accelerate electric heat pump manufacturing DOE announced $169 million to support nine projects to accelerate electric heat manufacturing across the country. Honeywell International in Geismar, Louisiana was selected to receive over $14.7 million to expand capacity at the existing plant. The funding will allow for an expansion of production at the plant and will positively impact the supply chain for electric heat pumps. |
11/16/2023 | EPA announced over $3.1 million to fund five environmental justice projects across Louisiana. Groundwork New Orleans, Louisiana Department of Health, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Thrive New Orleans and Micah Six Eight Mission will receive funds to support projects leading to measurable environmental and public health impacts |
11/15/2023 | EPA announced more than $90 million in awards to support 84 projects aimed at expansion of recycling infrastructure and education for waste management systems. The Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana has been selected to receive $565,000 from the program. |
11/14/2023 | DOE announced over $444 million to support 16 selected projects that will bolster the nation's carbon management industry. Two Louisiana projects have been selected to receive Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funds under the program. Advanced Resources International will receive over $21.1 million to develop a carbon storage hub near Monkey Island, Louisiana. River Parish Sequestration will receive over $25.6 million to develop a carbon transportation and storage solution for the Louisiana Chemical Corridor. |
